The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has set up an assets management agency to oversee the maintenance of public property in the state.
Obaseki, while speaking at a meeting with members of the executive committee, said the initiative was deemed necessary in the wake of increased investment in public property across the state.
He said his administration would grow, develop and move the state to an enviable height in terms of good governance.
According to him, his administration is committed to developing the state and improving the lives of Edo people as the state government will not relent in its efforts on infrastructural renewal, industrialisation and social development programmes across the state.
Obaseki said, “The state government will ensure that all the projects under construction and those that have been concluded have maintenance plans in place, which must be strictly adhered to.
“We have created a new assets management agency, which will have a comprehensive arrangement and plans for all government property.
“This exco chamber is one of the various projects this administration has completed in line with the second pillar in our administration’s thematic pillars, which is to strengthen institutions. We want to make sure that the work environment for decision-making in government is world-class, technologically-driven and modern.”
